This directory provides contact details of trained and certified individuals who have completed the various levels of IFS training. The directory is provided as a public service for anyone interested in Internal Family Systems therapy.

IFS Aotearoa NZ confirms that to the best of our knowledge, the trained and certified individuals on this list have completed the stated training levels with the IFS Institute or their international partners. The additional information in this directory has been provided by the individuals themselves. IFS Aotearoa NZ is not a licensing board or disciplinary body, and we haven’t independently verified the information provided by those listed.

IFS Aotearoa NZ does not guarantee the ability of the people who have taken training in IFS therapy, nor do we supervise their ongoing work, nor have any knowledge of their experience or training beyond the completion of the training levels listed below.

Individuals listed operate independently, and by using this directory, you agree that IFS Aotearoa NZ and its representatives shall have no liability for the actions of the individual you choose or the effectiveness of any treatment you may receive.

We recommend you choose a therapist with an appropriate mental health qualification and registered with a clinical professional registration body in NZ. Some of those listed are life coaches and do NOT have a professional clinical registration. Please undertake your due diligence as with any other significant engagement.

Levels of Learning

People listed in the Directory have all completed IFS Institute Training to Level 1 or higher levels, leading for some to Certification as an IFS Therapist or Practitioner.

  • IFS Therapists are those who have an appropriate mental health qualification, have completed at least Level1 IFS training, and are currently registered and in good standing with a clinical professional registration body in NZ.
  • IFS Practitioners are those who have completed at least Level1 IFS training and who work in the field of human relationships and well-being but are not registered with a clinical licensing body.
  • IFS Certified Therapists and Practitioners have undertaken an advanced process in which individuals demonstrate their competence in the IFS method.
  • Approved IFS Clinical Consultants are Certified IFS Therapists who have further clinical experience in practicing IFS and have been recommended by a Lead Trainer as clinicians suitable to offer supervision for people on the path of IFS training.
