Profile

Kia ora, my name is Lucie.

My initial psychotherapy training was grounded in humanistic approaches, including Gestalt therapy and Person-Centred Therapy, with influences from Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy. It was through this work that I was first introduced to ‘parts work’—a way of understanding the many different aspects of ourselves with curiosity and compassion.

Since then, I have developed over a decade of clinical experience working in the mental health and addiction field, supporting people experiencing trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. I have worked extensively with both individuals and therapeutic groups, often integrating creative and experiential approaches into the counselling process.

Alongside traditional talk therapy, I have a passion for working creatively using art, sand tray, figurines, imagery, and visualisation. I find these approaches particularly valuable in helping clients engage the right hemisphere of the brain, safely externalise internal experiences, regulate emotions, deepen self-awareness, and access unconscious processes that can be difficult to express in words alone.

My personal interests include visual arts, spirituality and Raja Yoga meditation, family and systemic constellations, and ongoing personal growth. I believe that continually exploring and healing my own inner and relational systems enables me to offer a grounded, authentic, and safe therapeutic presence for those I work with.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is much more than another therapeutic model for me. It brings together the values, knowledge, and experience from my previous professional trainings while offering a deeply compassionate way of understanding ourselves. IFS has become both a way of practising therapy and a way of living that supports greater connection, healing, and authenticity.
