Would you like to participate in a compassionate, creative, and neuro-affirming group therapy experience?
Might you like to further understand your internal landscape of parts, through actively witnessing and sharing with others?
Working with parts in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, is often imaginative and illuminating for those of us who identify with ADHD. In IFS, the Self welcomes parts with compassion and understanding, and inner harmony increases. Creative action methods are also commonly helpful, as we can show as well as tellwhat is going on. We will take time to share these responses together and creatively capture and reflect on our experience, through drawing, journalling, brief mindfulness meditations and embodied exercises.
Your facilitators, Nelida and Alistair, both have lived experience of ADHD, and each have decades of experience working in the mental health field and facilitating groups as health professionals.
Nelida is a Level 2 IFS Institute Certified Practitioner and Registered Nurse. She completed her Master’s in Counselling Degree in 2024 and runs a private counselling practice in Ōtautahi Christchurch
Alistair is both Scottish and a citizen of Aotearoa. He is a Social Worker and offers supervision, managerial training in trauma-informed and reflective supervision, and is a judicial officer for the Mental Health Tribunal, Scotland. Alistair is visiting Ōtautahi Christchurch for the summer.
NB This non-residential retreat is not intended as a substitute for IFS therapy nor a formal introduction to IFS or other models. We can gladly signpost you to those opportunities.
You do not require an official ADHD diagnosis or to have IFS/creative action therapy experience. However, you will need to be ready to actively participate in group work and reflection and have external support for self-care.

4 days of self-discovery and growth in the Coromandel peninsula, Aotearoa NZ. This event is all about embracing the different stages of Life, and learning how to integrate them into your life seamlessly. In these days we bring our focus to internal and external systems for release, healing, and wholeness.
Explore how the stages of your life shape your relationships, health, fulfilment and happiness. Together we’ll explore your life stages and journey into adulthood. We invite greater clarity about our inner and outer constraints using Family and Systemic Constellations, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and group-work. Here we look into meeting our stage-appropriate needs, loosening entanglements through resolving unfinished bonding, grief and conflict. Acknowledging our excluded emotions, inter-generational inheritances, thoughts and knowings (often that were removed from awareness for our survival and stability) allows us new growth and perspectives.

Time: 10am start on day one, 9am-530pm daily with 90min lunch break, 1pm on day four, with lunch
